A commercial property is judged from the parking lot. Tenants, buyers and inspectors all form an opinion before they reach the door. Grounds maintenance is the part of that opinion you can control every week.

Tampa Turf Services has maintained commercial grounds in the Tampa Bay area since 1984. We hold a schedule, we send the same crew, and we tell you when something on the property needs attention before it becomes a repair bill.

Mowing, edging and line trimming

We cut turf at the height the grass type needs, not at one setting for every property. St. Augustine and Bahia grow differently, and cutting them too short in a Florida summer invites weeds and disease.

Edges get cut on every visit. Sidewalks, curbs, bed lines and building faces stay clean, so the property reads as maintained rather than mowed.

Pruning, shrubs and tree care

Shrubs get shaped on a cycle so they hold their form instead of being cut back hard twice a year. Hedges stay square. Bed plants stay off the walkways.

We also watch the trees. Low branches over a parking aisle, dead wood above an entrance and limbs touching the roof line all get flagged and quoted before storm season.

Weed control and fertilization

Weeds get treated on a schedule, not after they take a bed. We use targeted products so the turf and the ornamentals are not damaged.

Fertilization follows the season and the grass type. Florida counties restrict nitrogen application in the summer rain months, and our applications stay inside those rules.

Mulch, flower beds and seasonal color

Mulch holds moisture, slows weeds and finishes a bed. We refresh it on an agreed cycle and pull it back off tree trunks, which is where most mulch damage starts.

Seasonal flower rotations are available for entrances, monument signs and lobbies. Many of our commercial clients change color three or four times a year.

Irrigation checks and debris removal

Each visit includes a look at the irrigation. Broken heads, blocked nozzles and heads spraying the parking lot get reported and repaired, which protects both the plants and the water bill.

Leaf litter, palm fronds and storm debris get cleared. Debris that sits in a swale or on a drain grate is a flood risk on the next heavy rain.

Common questions

How often do you service a commercial property?

Most commercial contracts run weekly through the growing season and drop to every other week in winter. We set the schedule when we walk the site, based on turf type, irrigation and how the property is used.

Do you carry insurance for large commercial contracts?

Yes. We are fully licensed and insured, and we carry the coverage limits that large commercial and HOA agreements normally require. We send certificates directly to your management company.

Who do I call if something is wrong?

One project manager is assigned to your property and is your direct contact. You do not go through a call center to reach the person responsible for the site.

Do you handle irrigation repairs, or only maintenance?

We do both. Our crews report irrigation faults during the maintenance visit, and our irrigation team makes the repair. See our commercial irrigation page for full system work.
